Remembrance for solo piano was composed in 2017 as a thank you to Lisa Miller, in memory of her mother, Margaret Owen Miller. The imitation birdsong heard in the piece is a dual reference—to Margaret’s love of birds, and to Vogelfänger (Birdcatcher) for solo piano, a piece Lisa commissioned from me as a gift for her husband Ronald Sarachan.
